- Close to big cities
- Close to national parks
- Loads to do
- A really good secondary school
We think Ossett is a great place to be. It’s a small West Yorkshire town of around 22,000 people, half-way between the west and east coasts of England. It’s on the doorstep of the M1 and M62, with good rail links from nearby Wakefield. With lots of good reasons to visit Ossett, there are even more reasons to live here: it’s near lots of great places, there’s loads to do and the schools are very good.
Town & country
We’ve got all the amenities of towns and cities on our doorstep: Dewsbury and Wakefield are just 4 miles west and east, Leeds is 12 miles north, and Sheffield is 25 miles south. If you love open spaces, you can be in the Peak District in 30 minutes, the Yorkshire Dales in an hour, and the Lake District in 2 hours.
Things to do
There’s a mind-boggling range of things to do in Ossett – from zumba to the ukulele, creative writing to karate, learning languages to amateur dramatics. There are 2 rugby clubs (one union and one league, of course) and 2 semi-professional football teams. To keep you fit, there are golf club plus loads of amateur sports clubs, including football, cricket and rugby. We’ve even got our very own brewery and an annual beer festival (yay!)
We think you’d struggle to find a better place to live and work (well, other than the Maldives). So check out our latest vacancies!
